US soft rock legends Counting Crows have announced that their major UK arena tour will call in to Manchester later this year.

The California band, led by Adam Duritz, will head to the UK for a pre-Christmas jaunt in December and will play Manchester's MEN Arena on December 7th.

Counting Crows will come to Manchester two days after playing Wembley Arena in London - and will continue around the UK, playing gigs in Birmingham, on December 13th, and Sheffield, before finishing in Glasgow on December 18th.

Tickets for the ten-date tour will go on sale at 09:00 BST this Friday, July 25th.

The tour announcement comes just two weeks after the band played a number of performances across the UK, including a Summer Pops gig in Liverpool.

In their 17 year career, Counting Crows have sold over 25 million albums worldwide and received an Oscar nomination in 2004 for the song Accidentally in Love, which was on the Shrek 2 soundtrack.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18694834-ADNFCR
