As a clubbing institution, Cream's impact can't ever be overstated. You only have to witness the , and it still packs them in at home and Ibiza - the forthcoming Boxing Day showcase with Laidback Luke evidence of that.
For many though the club;s first decade as a weekly event from 1992-2002 still holds true as the golden period of clubbing, and that's reflected by the Cream Reunion shows, which returns to Nation on Saturday 7th February for it's eighth installment.
Previous editions have brought in the icons of the superclub era, with trance titans like John Kelly and Guy Ornadel, house megastars X-Press 2 and Justin Robertson, and of course Cream residents par excellence Seb Fontaine, Nick Warren and Paul Bleasdale all playing misty eyed classic sets.
It's the turn this time of Jon Pleased Wimmin to take centre stage, the infamous drag queen DJ who's unique flair and style in appearance was matched by his flamboyant and diverse DJ sets, consistently traversing genres across the full spectrum of dance music - listen to him playing for Shine in Leeds back in April for evidence of his ability to still delvier.
Also playing will be progressive and tribal house totem King Unique, whose remixes of Dirty Vegas' 'Walk into the Sun' and Underworld's 'Two Months Off' were Cream anthems in the early twenty first century.
Classic Acid House Mix For Mixmag by Jon Carter on Mixcloud
Former Monkey Mafia mainstay Jon Carter will also play, a DJ whose role managed to span big beat, dub and dancehall focused grooves as well as house and techno sounds (listen to his classic acid house mix for Mixmag above). Bleasdale returns alongside Cream Reunion resident Sam Lamont - tickets via the box below and here.
