There's absolutely no doubting the importance of Creamfields and the Cream brand to British raving and that is to be commemorated at this year's festival, with the 20 year celebrations at the heart of the party. The four day event features 300 artists play on over 30 stages, with big names to satisfy the fastest of any electronic music junkie.
From Deadmau5 to Stormzy, Patrick Topping to Fatboy Slim, with plenty more including The Chainsmokers, Eats Everything and Eric Prydz, the Creamfields 2017 line up is a special affair.
Hitting the legendary Creamfields site near Warrington on August bank holiday weekend, between Thursday 24th and Sunday 27th August, the party spirit will be in the air more than ever this year and with the returning Steel Yard stage, the return of Cream at Nation, the first BBC Introducing stage for electronic acts only, and also Carnavale, the carnival area of the festival site.
With plenty to choose from, we counted down the top five acts to play at this year's enormous Creamfields.
5. Sam Divine
For those ravers heading down to Daresbury on the Thursday, there is a sturdy line up on offer early doors, including Defected's Sam Divine. Having covered all areas of the music industry, she has held down residencies at Amnesia and Ushuaia, created her own label, as well as presenting Defected's famous In The House radio show.
From humble beginnings, DJing in her mums shed and at the bottom of the garden and working in a record shop, the DJ is an expert at creating a musical journey with her sets, keeping her audience engaged and moving throughout. She has well and truly earned her stripes and has a loyal global following to prove it.
4. Stormzy
An intriguing name to burst out of the Creamfields bill. He represents one of a few MCs on an otherwise 'dancey' lineup, but this won't matter one bit. Stepping onto the Jam-packed stage as a Saturday night headliner, Big Stormz has more than mastered the art of captivating an audience right from the off. His rise to the top has come at a blistering pace, and to be topping the bill on any stage at all is impressive, but even more so when you look at some of the DJ talent around him.
He won't disappoint though, and with number 1 album Gang Signs and Prayer, and seemingly the love of an entire nation, the rapper has got all he needs to deliver big at this year's Creamfields.
3. Lauren Lo Sung
One of the most amazing things about heading off to a festival is the opportunity to discover your new favourite artist. If you're into straight up house and techno music, then local girl Lauren Lo Sung should be on your agenda this year at Creamfields.
You can catch her alongside the likes of Skream, Butch and Latmun on Friday's wonderfully vibrant Carnavale stage as she grows in stature and continues to bring her unique style to some of the biggest dance music events in the UK.
2. Richie Hawtin
The Steelyard on Saturday will be reverberating to the best techno around, with Marco Carola, Loco Dice and Nastia among the stalwarts knocking out the relentless rhythms in what is arguably Creamfields' most impressive arena.
But it's Hawtin, with a UK exclusive of his Close project, that is the biggest draw. Already a show stealer at Coachella and Movement Detroit, you can expect a blistering audio-visual fusion which will be relentless from the off.
1. Deadmau5 & Eric Prydz
Surely the most seismic headline slot of the summer sees two dance music titans hook up in their first ever UK show together and their only European date of the summer. It doesn't get much bigger than this as the Canadian and the Swede join forces for an incredible show in the most suitable of venues; the Steel Yard arena, a purpose built raving haven with the finest special affects and sound production values.
It's easily the most impressive arena you're likely to see this festival season and with two of EDM's biggest performers inside, you can't really go wrong. Friday night at Creamfields is the night for this immense spectacle, get down early for it will be rammed in there.
