Few figures inspire quite as much awe in the world of soul and R&B as D'Angelo, the silk-tongued crooner is revered by music lovers across the globe for the way he joins the funk and soul vibe of the sixties and seventies with the music of the nineties and early 21st century.
He released two albums, 1995's Brown Sugar followed by the mesmerising Voodoo five years later (check out 'Devil's Pie' from that and the Belly OST above), before slowly drifting out of the attention, much like the other shining totem of that music genre Lauryn Hill.
Rumours have been swirling of a new album in recent months and that arrived this week, with Black Messiah (stream below on Spotify) released on Monday 15th December to rave reviews. Now he is taking the show on the road.
He'll play Manchester's O2 Apollo on Wednesday 18th February, for which tickets are now on sale with ourselves (head here or follow the ticket box below). He'll also head to Birmingham's 02 Academy one day previously and hit London's Hammersmith Apollo on Friday 20th.
