This week on Days Out With Skiddle we've got a Christmas special as we count down the final few days to the big day. We're incredibly excited for Christmas, a much-needed break from 2021. We've put together a list of the best Christmas events you can attend this week to really get you in that festive spirit.

 

 

Santa's Grotto

When: Wednesday 22nd December

Where: Witton Country Park, Blackburn

Visiting Santa's grotto is a must if you have kids. At Witton Country Park you can find the man himself and they'll be able to tell him what's on their list this year. There may even be some surprises in store for them too and they'll be given a gift to take home too. This will surely put you in a Christmas mood.

Elf @ Christmas Drive-In

When: Tuesday 21st December

Where: Southend Outdoor Cinema, Rayleigh

Elf is one of the best Christmas films and a staple of every Christmas. Follow Buddy the elf, who clearly doesn't quite fit in at the North Pole. He goes to New York in search of connecting with his estranged father. With Will Ferrel starring it is one of the funniest Christmas films around

Christmas at Whatton House presents A Winter's Tail

When: Tuesday 21st December

Where: Whatton House, Loughborough

This is an immersive journey through Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. A guided garden walk, you'll get out and have an adventure through the wonderful gardens at Whatton House, meeting a wide range of characters and taking in the wonderful scenery. This incredibly unique experience blends theatre with exploration.

Digbeth Ice Rink

When: Tuesday 21st December

Where: Luna Springs, Digbeth, Birmingham

Everyone loves a bit of ice skating. It doesn't matter if you've never done it before, it can be a daunting prospect but once you're out there on the ice you can quickly gain confidence and if not, there's always the side that you can cling onto. Digbeth has an ice rink that is perfect for people of all abilities.

Christmas City - Frozen

When: Thursday 23rd December 

Where: Power League Soccer Dome, Manchester

Come and see the Disney modern classic Frozen on a big screen with your family this Christmas. The film is an absolute hit with children and has quickly become a must-see for the festive period. Here you can drive into the cinema for an unforgettable and immersive experience.

Children's Festive Party

When: Tuesday 21st December

Where: Revolution Bar, Blackpool

Adults are banned from this festive party as the kids take over for a day of Christmas decorating painting, apple dipping and festive games. There will also be a DJ on hand to deliver those much-needed festive tunes. Let them run wild for a while and there's even a Christmas jumper competition

Christmas City - Last Christmas

When: Tuesday 21st December

Where: Power League Soccer Dome, Manchester

Get down to Christmas City in Manchester to see Last Christmas starring Emelia Clarke who takes on the role of Kate, a Londoner who never seems to get things to go her way until she meets Tom during Christmas. You can watch it from the comfort of your car and even pick up some snacks to enjoy too.
