It's the time of the week where we take a look at the latest events and attractions that we have here on Skiddle. This week we have a selection that ranges from Halloween cinema showings to a magical trail through a lights show. It's as eclectic as ever and we hope to see you at some of these wonderful events.

Best of the fest featuring Reginald D Hunter and Jo Caulfield
When: Sunday 17th October
Where: Victoria Park, Southport
The Southport Comedy Festival has been running throughout October and has been a hugely successful event that has seen some of the best comedians from around the world show off their best material. Now, this is your chance to see both Reginald D Hunter and Jo Caulfield both take to the stage to give the festival the fantastic send-off that it deserves.

When: Thursday 14th October
Where: Carlisle Cathedral
This is an immersive sound and light experience brought to you by Luxmuralis which will see projections put onto the architectural features of Carlisle Cathedral and Carlisle Castle that will transform the way they look. Be prepared to look in awe at these fantastic installations of art that will be soundtracked by works of David Harper as you contemplate them.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween Scream
When: Friday 29th October
Where: Platform, Glasgow
Platform in Glasgow are putting on this special event to celebrate The Rocky Horror Picture Show this Halloween. As well as showing a screening of the cult classic movie, they will also have DJs and dancers performing to really get you in the mood. Get your dancing shoes on because it's time to do the timewarp again.

Boom Battle Bar Presents: The Greatest Show Ever

When: Saturday 16th October
Where: Boom Battle Bar, Swindon
Taking influence from the much-loved movie The Greatest Showman, Boom Battle Bar is putting on a whole night dedicated to the spectacle of the greatest show. There will be contortionists, ribbon dancers, singers, hula hoop artists and much more taking to the stage for this variety show which is of course hosted by a ringmaster.

Where: Power League Soccer Dome, Manchester
It is an undisputed fact that dolls are some of the scariest things that you can find in the world. Those cold dead eyes and smiles that look like they're mocking your very existence. So it's a brilliant idea to make a whole movie dedicated to one to really scare people. Come on over to the big screen at Scare City in Manchester to watch it in the most terrifying place possible.

Preston Grasshoppers Annual Fireworks Display

When: Friday 5th November
Where: Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club, Preston
At Preston Grasshoppers they go all out for Bonfire night with a hugely impressive fireworks display and a funfair. The perfect event to bring the whole family along to, wrap up warm for this cold November night which will have a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere. The bonfire will be lit at 7 and the fireworks will start from 8.

When: Sunday 12th December
Where: Town Gardens, Swindon
A beautiful trail that will be open daily from December 3rd, this will see you wandering around an installation of lighting effects that will be placed throughout the Victorian Gardens in Swindon. With all the trees illuminated, sculptures, soundscapes and many beautiful illuminations to be found this sounds like an idyllic and relaxing experience.

The Bombay Brunch- Winter Edition

When: Sunday 21st November
Where: The Hangar, Wolverhampton
This is the Bombay Brunch winter special which has added in a bhangra karaoke segment where you and your friends can jump on stage to ruin some classic anthems with dancers to assist you. With a gorgeous selection of food, good times are guaranteed at this brunch event which is a perfect excuse to see your friends.

Where: The Warehouse Kitchen and Bar, Shrewsbury
Hank Marvin is back in Shrewsbury for a two-day event this year and they will be showcasing ten different street food vendors selected specifically as some of the best that you will find. With a fully stocked cocktail bar, live music coming from DJs and a warm, inviting atmosphere you really can't go wrong.
