One of the best comedy festivals in the UK is making its return later this year. Southport Comedy Festival brings together some of the best names from around the world and gives them the platform to deliver their best standup material. We have a couple of those performances for sale on this week's Days Out With Skiddle.

Paul Sinha first gained fame through being a chaser on the hit ITV show The Chase. Known as one of the best quiz minds in the country, he also showed that he had a funny side. He quickly became known for his standup routines too and now dedicates his career to comedy.

Jeff Green Recovering Optimist
When: Friday 14th October
Where: Southport Comedy Festival, Victoria Park, Southport
Jeff Green is an award-winning comedy legend and we can't wait to see what he has in store for us when he makes an appearance at Southport Comedy Festival. His latest show is titled Recovering Optimist and we'll see just how this sharp and observant comedian handles getting his sense of optimism back.

When: Sunday 10th July
Where: PINS Social Club, Liverpool
This event is set up by comedians Adam Rowe and Dan Nightingale and it sees them invite one of their favourite comedians down to PINS Social Club where they film the set. Dan and Adam will also be performing themselves so if you want to come along to this exclusive filming event then it'll be worth it for all the laughs.

When: Saturday 1st- Sunday 2nd October
Where: Peddler Warehouse, Sheffield
This will be Sheffield's first major tattoo event since 2016 and it's a place where you'll find the region's most interesting traders. Taking over Peddler Warehouse, there will be a blend of street food, craft drinks and live music too for you to enjoy. Get some ink inspiration or even use it as an excuse to get your first one (or 10th).

Where: Boom Battle Bar, Swindon
Anthony Joshua is back in action, one of Britain's best fighters is ready to take on Usyk and at this event in Swindon, you can come down and watch a screening of the whole event. Cher Tribute Hosted By Drag Queens
Where: Blundell Supper Club, Liverpool
One thing's for certain, CHER is an absolute legend and has become a queer icon. So,m a brunch event themed around her and hosted by drag queens sounds like a perfect match. Get ready for some live cabaret, some comedy and even an unlimited amount of popcorn as the drag queens do their thing.

When: Monday 10th October 2022- Tuesday 10th January 2023
Where: Barbican Centre, London
The Barbican is the place to go in London if you're looking to see beloved films in a whole new light. This show is a stage adaptation of My Neighbour Totoro, which is set in a magical fantasy world full of imagination. This performance will even be soundtracked by the original composer Joe Hisaishi.

Where: The Stag Digbeth, Birmingham
This is a fun-filled evening that features wine tasting, live music and conversation. The music will come from three different artists, a DJ and the host Rene Lucas-Williams. Throughout the day there will be five wines for you to try, with a specialist on hand to take you through each one and the history surrounding it.

Robert Temple- The Hypnotist: Unfinished
When: Wednesday 27th July
Where: Bobiks, Newcastle Upon Tyne
This is a very special show where you'll be able to see Robert Temple's hypnotism before it goes out on a theatre tour across the country. A constant sell-out, Robert's events are part hypnotism, part comedy as volunteers from the audience are messed with, much to everyone else's delight.

West Side Story Outdoor Cinema Experience
When: Saturday 30th July
Where: Bute Park, Cardiff
West Side Story is the hit film by Steven Spielberg that paid homage to the original whilst breathing new life into the story. An all-star cast that received Oscar nominations, this is one of the best musical films that has been released in years. You can see it on a huge outdoor screen in Cardiff this summer.
