We're in that awkward time of the year where it's getting dark when you leave work and the nights get much longer, Luckily, we have plenty of events here for you to make the most of the extended night and some brilliant events that are taking place in 2024. From theatre, to comedy and food festivals, there's a wide selection for you to choose from.

Where: Whitehouse Village Hall, Tarbert
A cast of seven women take on the roles of 25 different characters in a truly unique theatre production. Bringing you a fast-paced version of Compton Mackenzie's famous story, see how this community survives its whisky shortage.

Big Deal Comedy Presents The Gong Show
When: Thursday 9th November
Where: Town and Gown Pub and Theatre, Cambridge
Big Deal Comedy is bringing you a comedy show where you hold all the cards. The audience is in complete control. If you don't like a joke, you can get rid of them, if you're getting bored you can sack them off and if their one-liners are dropping off, just gong and they'll go away. Each comedian will have five minutes each to impress you.

Preston Grasshoppers Annual Fireworks Display
When: Sunday 5th November
Where: Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club, Preston
The annual Preston Grasshoppers Fireworks Display will return on Sunday 5th November and it'll see them make the best of a cold night, with a funfair to keep everyone entertained until the bonfire is lit at 6. The fireworks will begin an hour later and you'll be dazzled by the display.

Feastyfest returns in 2024! The culinary paradise will find itself back at Cheam Park in Sutton next September and it will once again see live music combine with flavours from all across the world to create an incredibly inviting atmosphere. It is an event food lovers must attend.

Where: Southport Comedy Festival, Victoria Park, Southport
Southport Comedy Festival may be coming to a close in the coming days but there's still a chance for you to grab tickets to some of the remaining shows. One of those is Paul Sinha's latest standup routine, which was one of the best-reviewed shows at the 2022 Edinburgh fringe.

There's a lot of star power behind this latest West End production in London. Kristin Scott Thomas and Lily James star in Lyonesse, which follows the story of a reclusive and talented actress ready to hit the stage again after a thirty year absence, where she enlists a young film executive to assist with her comeback.

British Oak Fireworks Extravaganza
When: Thursday 2nd November
Where: British Oak, Birmingham
Birmingham's British Oaks will be putting on a Bonfire Night event to remember on the 2nd November which will be fun for all of the family. Street food will be provided by the Original Patty Men and there will be a wide choice of drinks as you settle in for a fireworks display that will light up the sky.
