Newport becomes New York when the mics are polished for De La Soul and Jeru The Damaja on Wednesday 3rd August.
Easily one of the most influential hip hop collectives of all time, De La Soul were formed between Posdnuous, Dave and Maseo. Together they've sculpted jazz leaning, sample heavy masterpieces such as their huge opening statement 3 Feet High and Rising (listen to Me, Myself and I below).
They're followed by a headliner in himself, Jeru The Damaja, making this night one big fat hip hop sandwich of the highest order. Part of the famed Gang Starr Foundation, the Brooklyn born rapper also employs a gold solidified debut in The Sun Rises in the East.
With two originators and massively respected figures of the genre coming to South Wales for the first time, this one is effectively irresistible to any hip hop fan.
