Legendary jazz funk innovator Roy Ayers has unveiled details of a special one off show at one of London's most brilliant musical spaces, The Barbican, on Saturday 3rd March.
Ayers hits the capital with a career spanning over forty years, undoubtedly making him one of the leading pioneers in his field, and with his group Ubiquity produced some legendary records.
Primarily, this includes 1976's Everybody Loves The Sunshine, which is so much more than just its title track, as we testified to here and Ayers influence can be easily measured down to the fact he has more sampled hits by rappers than any other artist.
Unsurprising then that he is acclaimed by the likes of Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, 50 Cent, A Tribe Called Quest, Tupac and Ice Cube, and has delivered a simply sublime body of work throughout his career.
Find Roy Ayers London tickets from 11am on Friday 15th December.
