We’ve been unable to escape the irresistable charm of the brotherly duo of Guy and Howard Lawrence. Their album Settle has been near enough on repeat in the Skiddle office, being one of the few bands everyone can agree on (there can be some bitterly fought battles for control of the airwaves)...

Its undeniable really, Disclosure have completely taken over the nation's ears with their bass wise deep house, infectious pop hooks and smooth grooves. Their album Settle has been greeted by the British public with such fervour, and significant critical acclaim, including a staggering 9.1 from Pitchfork, it seemed only a matter of time before the Surrey lads were nominated for, what has been for us anyway, one of the highlights of the year.

They have enjoyed a jam packed touring schedule, including T in the Park, Latitude, Lovebox, Global Gathering, Leeds & Reading, as well as a mighty double header at Glastonbury.  At just 19 and 22 years old, God knows what more these two are capable of.

They will be in competition with Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie, Foals, Jake Bugg, James Blake and Jon Hopkins for the coveted Mercury Music Prize. We’ll have to wait til the 30th October to see how they fair.

In the mean time, the brothers head up proceedings at The Institute in Birmingham on Sat 21st alongside Oneman, Grant Nelson and Javeon. Grab your tickets to see the Mercury Prize nominees in action below.
