The brother ensnared the top spot with the release after a neck and neck battle with rock royalty Queens of the Stone Age, crowning a great year for them. At the start of 2012 Disclosure were only known of in certain underground circles but since then they’ve rapidly risen to the top of the elite, their infectious brand of garage and house working its way into the ears of nigh on everyone in the country. The boys were chuffed with the position, saying the following:

"We're absolutely delighted with the result. Proudest moment of our lives. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has bought the record."

The duo have been everywhere recently, with their omnipresence on radio doubling up on television as well, where they appeared on Jools Holland’s show, a sure-fire sign of mainstream meritocracy if ever there was one. The ubiquity would of course be unbearable if the music didn’t stand up, and we for one here at Skiddle HQ have rinsed the album since we first got a copy in recent weeks.

It’s been a good year so far for electronic music in the charts, with Duke Dumont, Rudimental and, of course, Daft Punk all enjoying success on both the singles and album charts. Disclosure are of course playing a fair few events this summer too, the next of which is for We Love… this weekend.
