Two men and one microphone is one of hip-hop's most potent combinations. Pairings between the likes of Wu Tang brethren Ghostface Kilah and Raekwon, gritty street poets Mobb Deep or leftfield pop experimenters Outkast have been responsible for some of hip hop's finest moments, but there's one duo who epitomise its brilliance - EPMD.

Since their classic debut Strictly Business dropped in 1988, Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith's effortless chemistry on wax has been nectar for hip hop heads. They released four titles between then and their first break up in 1993, each album well received both in terms of sales and critical acclaim.

Sermon went on to form the Def Squad with Keith Murray and Redman, whilst becoming a hall of fame producer in his own right. The duo reunited again in 1997 for another album Back in Business, and have since appeared only rarely at sows around the world. The legends will touch down in the UK for just two shows, at Manchester's Sound Control on Tuesday 7th June and London's Brooklyn Bowl two days later.
