This Easter, the guys at Manchester’s much loved dance music establishment, Sound Control, have organised something rather special. Two nights of high tempo, cerebral and emotional excitement, soundtracked by some of the finest underground music you’re likely to hear.
On Saturday the 30th, Fundamental present the mighty Swedish producer Cari Lekebusch. Hailing from stockholm, Cari is a veteran of the scene. Producing since the early nineties, and setting up his own label in ‘98, Cari Lekebusch has long been at the forefront of the techno movement. His extensive back catalogue has boasted releases on labels such as Soma, Turbo, and Truesoul. With his inimitable sound and style, Cari has gained a raft of followers, not least through his regular performances at world famous clubs such as Cocoon, Tresor, Berghain, and Fabric. If you love your techno dark and pounding, like being pummelled by metallic pulses as you make your way through the engine room of warship, Cari Lekebusch is your man!
Alongside him will be the up and coming, highly praised, and certainly one to watch, Gemma Furbank. Gemma is a Vestax Pro Artist signed to Union Label, and has a residency at Orbit Reloaded. She has been wowing crowds for some time now, with both incredible DJing skills and a killer stage presence, gaining notoriety for her infectious personality, and showing genuine passion for the techno she plays, which is highly evident in the energy she creates with her sets. It’s always a joy to behold one of her performances, and well worth checking out.
Fundamental residents Lucy Ironmonger, Kerrie, and Blasha and Allat will also be on hand to create and unforgettable dark and twisted night of techno at Manchester’s iconic Club.
Sunday night brings an equally impressive lineup to Sound Control.
After a series of well received podcasts, Cassini are throwing a massive ten hour party! Not ones to do things by halves, they have also organised a very special boat party, to run alongside the event at Sound Control. Tickets to the boat event are limited though, so act fast.
The fantastic Gemma Furbank is going to be having a busy weekend, returning to Sound Control to play Sunday night as well, much to the delight of the Manchester crowd. Godskitchen favourite Kreso will appear alongside her, as well as the guys behind the hugely popular underground house and techno night Positive Education, 3Deep. Throw into the mix highly respected resident DJs Hew & Epic Noise Guy, whose laid back approach will provide the perfect soundtrack to your Easter Sunday, and you can expect to hear some of the most cutting edge sounds, from techno, through to house and electronica.
In the event of you getting a bit worn out with a full weekend of hard partying, have no fear! The lovely people at Cassini have just the thing. They have put together a chill out area, complete with full chill out wear, and lined with large bean bags for you to rest your weary souls.
Whether it's on a boat, or in the club itself, both Fundamental and Cassini have put together two events that will constitute one hell of a weekend, catering for all your clubbing needs. With these nights being two of the most enthusiastically well received nights in Manchester, you can rest assured that your Easter weekend is in very, very good hands.
