The worlds largest arts and culture festival returns to the Scottish capital this year for its 72nd event, inviting creatives from around the world to take over the city's streets, venues, and alleyways.

Originally formed by 8 theatrical societies in 1947, the epic 3-week event now attracts and supports musicians, comedians, authors, and artists, etc from around the globe. The festival in recent years has sold over 2 million tickets for over 50,000 performances, each year.

Throughout August and early September, The Old Dr Bells Baths, a recently re-invented, much-loved listed building in the heart of Leith, will welcome a range of fantastic live acts, including Liverpudlian 90's alt-rock band Space, The Southfeaturing original members of The Beautiful South, Glaswegian genre hoppers Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 and English singer-songwriter Badly Drawn Boy.

The venue will also host evenings with the likes of Trainspotting author and playwright, Irvine Welsh, former Oasis manager Alan McGee, and Happy Mondays frontman, Shaun Ryder. Other notable appearances include Queen tribute act, One Night With Freddie, Prince tribute act, Endorphinmachine and a special 'Freaky Dancin' evening with maracas enthusiast, Bez, also of the Happy Mondays.
