Electric Chair's End of Year Riot

Electric Chair remains one of Manchester's most well loved shindigs, the Unabombers' tour de force through the deeper and more eclectic vestiges of dance music still sorely missed. Each year though they bring that madness back for one night, this year returning to Fac 251 on Saturday 27th December for their End of Year Riot.

Last year's showcase saw the likes of Horse Meat Disco, Justin Robertson (check him waxing lyrical about Manchester to us recently) and Derrick Carter playing disco for the whole night convene for an event that sold out weeks in advance - even without a line up for weeks the demand for the notorious shindig was huge.

That's only increased since the line up wes released. Top of the bill is none other than NYC disco legend Francois K playing one of his reverential Deep Space sets all night long; six hours of his dubby musical genius explored in the Electric Loft (catch a flavour of that above).

The next room sees the Electric Chair musical manifesto in full force as they team up with another of Mancunia's celebrated soiree Aficionado. The Unabombers  and Mark Seven go toe to toe with the Moonbots and Jason Boardman for a cosmic soundclash of epic proportions.

The final room is the Voodoo House Basment, where Paul Woolford, Maurice Fulton and James Holroyd will bring leftfield jacks and leery jams from the off - listen to Woolford in the mix for Mixmag and Bugged Out! above.

Whilst the Chair's influence still permeates the city, via the myriad of Electricks' bars and eateries, and of course the Electric Elephant festival in idyllic Croatian village Tisno, this party is still the top choice for musical aficionados and Electric Chair veterans alike.
