Erick Morillo opened up to Pete Tong at IMS earlier today about his struggle with addiction and subsequently nearly losing an arm.
He pinpointed not being top dog any more and producing music he didn't love for his drug consumption spiralling.
"When all these young DJs were all of a sudden blowing up and eclipsing me - my ego couldn’t take it." @ErickMorillo opens up at #IMSIbiza.

When the Subliminal Records owner was questioned about nearly losing his arm, Morillo told how he was admitted to hospital through the pain of not being able to urinate and waking up to find they had removed part of his arm due to infection. (See a clip from the interview below)
After checking into rehab three times, Morillo has since recovered. He appeared rejuvenated through the power of music, citing a resurgence of house music and stating, "stay true to the music you love".
Quite frankly we hear you Erick and big ups for shedding light on such an issue by speaking so personally and honestly.
Erick's recovery means that he is back doing what he does best and you can catch him on Sunday 29th May at Space Ibiza. The DJ and producer will also feature at M25 festival in London this August.
