Happy People - Eats Everything feat. Stevie Appleton
After months of dropping it in his sets, Bristol DJ Eats Everything finally blessed us with ‘Happy People’ on Friday, just before his set at Creamfields over the weekend.
Euphoric with that front-and-centre piano riff and of course the vocal loop proclaiming “we’re just happy people” through a smile, this track is the sound of a sunny rave. A little hazy, which is definitely helped by the music video, it’s not just a squeaky clean dance in the sun, it’s a hedonistic rave that just so happens to feature the sun beating down.
Warm, infectious, and smile-provoking, it’s an instant addition to our playlist.

You Cannot Try - SUGARTHIEF
Staffordshire indie rock band SUGARTHIEF self-released their six-track EP, Thanks for waiting, last Friday, and it’s ace. ‘You Cannot Try’ is the final track on the EP and the one we wanted to highlight,
A little jazzy, a little lazy, a little otherworldly, this is the perfect track for lying down to listen to with your headphones on. Proper escapism and super gentle, it’s a stunning addition to the band’s catalogue.
Check them out before they blow up at their next gig in Brum next week.

Napalm - Pendulum
Linking up with American hip-hop duo Joey Valence & Brae for this new track, Pendulum has dropped a track that goes unbelievably hard.
Bringing in their metal influences for the intro before it launches into DnB mayhem. Joey Valence & Brae trade lyrics over the chaotic and stormy track that’s adorned with breakbeat loops, metal-inspired breakdowns, and massive basslines.
It’s absolutely massive and definitely deserves a listen.

Native Sons - Talib Kweli, J. Rawls
Paying homage to legendary 80s and 90s hip-hop collective Native Tongues, Talib Kweli and producer J. Rawls recently gave us ‘Native Sons’, giving us a taste of what to expect from their collaborative album The Confidence Of Knowing which comes out in September.
Fast-paced, bouncy, but also a little eerie, Kweli glides over the beat with ease as it continues to change. It’s a bit messy but a definite attention grabber.
Back to the album really quickly. Features on their upcoming album include IDK, Planet Asia, Blu, and more. So keep an eye out for this one!
