Essential Listening: House and Techno
Pegao - Cloonee & Andruss
Not too long after his hit ‘Sippin’ Yak’ blew up, getting play at every house rave and festival, Cloonee’s back with another banger. Linking up with Mexican producer Andruss, he’s dropped another heater (are we surprised?).
Sampling reggaeton legends Wisin & Yandel’s track ‘Pegao’ (meaning stuck or glued), on top of a super energetic percussive instrumental, we’ve got some Latin flavours in this killer tech house track - the ultimate combination.
Adorned with whistles and big basslines, it’s making us seriously crave a sunny holiday rave.

Essential Listening: Indie and Alternative
Dissolve - Boston Manor
Taken from the Blackpool band’s newest album, Sundiver, ‘Dissolve’ makes its point with sludgy basslines and snakey guitar riffs.
Driving and a tad intense, we start with that gritty bassline and primal drums before a shrieking guitar comes in for the pre-chorus. Launching into a full-bodied groovy chorus with chunky, menacing riffs, we're afterwards met with tasteful synths and floaty guitars altered by effect pedals.
Packing a few different influences in one parcel and ending on a mournful piano with guitar feedback, ‘Dissolve’ is almost like an entire movie with changes in plot and all the emotions that come with it.

Essential Listening: Drum & Bass and Jungle
Hurt - Georgie Riot feat. Sophie-Grace
Georgie Riot, known for her melodic DnB tracks, has linked up with Sophie-Grace to give us ‘Hurt’, a dizzying banger meant to be screamed along to at the top of your lungs.
Fusing powerful, emotive vocals with massive, distorted basslines, the two somehow craft a warm but hard track. Featuring cut-up vocals as part of the instrumental, there’s something about the track that makes you a bit dizzy, perfectly complementing the sombre lyrical content.

Ruby Rosary - A$AP Rocky feat. J. Cole
Flacko’s back with his second taster of his forthcoming album Don’t Be Dumb which seems unlikely to ever see the light of day. Only kidding. But he has pushed it back again. However, with this new track, we think we’ll let him off.
Joining ‘Highjack’ as the album’s singles (‘Tailor Swif’ won’t be on the album), ‘Ruby Rosary is our favourite of the two singles so far.
Enlisting The Alchemist for production for the first time, we’ve got a haunting piano track with a pinch of the foggy, trippy vibes we’ve come to know Rocky for. Cole comes in for the final verse, picking up the pace to end the track with a bang.
