This year's Mercury Prize winning trio, Young Fathers, head to Liverpool's primal culture scope, Kazimier, on Sunday 7th June 2015.
Formed during their teens, the multi national collective formed in Edinburgh began flaunting their divergent dynamic take on r&b around the city's nightclubs, a far cry from where they currently stand in the musical cosmos.
Their sound incorporates jagged rhythms and bass, built upon warped noise to achieve something along the lines of distorted electro, yet that still doesn't really cut it. Pair that up with their distinct rap vocal, roaring harmonies and everything else in between, and you may have something in your head that sounds vaguely like their track 'GET UP' below.
Despite appearing as a relatively new entity when they claimed this year's Mercury accolade, the trio are comparably seasoned when you consider that the likes of Alt-J achieved the same feat with their debut album.
After already accumulating three albums during their short lived tenure, including the eulogized DEAD, the band will stretch their sound producing their next album in Berlin, and if the fruits of that are anything like those of it's predecessors, it's inevitable that Young Fathers will pack out arenas for years to come.
