FLOOR Music Talks partners up with global network SheSaid. So at Texture in Manchester on Saturday 24th September to discuss one of the industry's hot topics.
They will examine Pauline Olivero's seminal 1998 writing on females in music and ask what's changed in the last 18 years - what's working and what still needs to be done? Can we re-write the rules for shifting the male-focused paradigm in music for 2016, and do we even need them?
They have invited four females working at the top of the music industry today to trace progress through the years and to touch on the challenges they have faced. The panel is made up of:
Moxie: DJ, radio presenter and curator of 'On Loop' event series
Chloe Pensavalle: Founder, General Manager, Booking Agent and Events Manager at Annex Agency
Sarah McBriar: Founder and Festival Director of AVA
Ema Nosurak: Founder of artist management agency Bite the Apple
Wilf Gregory: Director of Metropolis, Hideout, Lost & Found, North Base
The discussion will be moderated by Kim Khan and the music will be supplied by Meat Free DJs.
The panel discussion will run 4pm-5pm and the networking will take place from 5pm-7pm.
