The big and the bold sounds of Hot 8 Brass Band will be soundtracking Farmfestival this summer after being added to the 2014 line up. They'll join the likes of Public Service Broadcasting, Melt Yourself Down and Alpines at the Somerset gathering, which takes place from Friday 1st to Saturday 2nd August at Gilcombe Farm.
The group are renowned for their infamous cover of Marvin Gaye’s 'Sexual Healing', which featured on 2007 album Rock with the Hot 8 (stream below on Spotify), and soundtracking the HBO drama about New Orleans Treme.
Also added to the bill will be London psych-pop duo Coves, the honey tinged sound of Laura Groves, indie mainstays We The Wild and skanking maestros Onlyjoe.
The DJ line up is equally fresh, with Ralph Lawson, DJ Food, Channel One Soundsystem and many more all playing. The Farmfest residents recently recorded a mix to showcase the collage of sounds they represent, which you can listen to and download below. Head here for further ticketing information.
