2nd - Trafford Lovething The pioneering star of the Mancunian soul-funk scene. Traffords original Car Wash night at the old Man Alive club in the late 80s recreated the Citys love affair with disco music and made it credible again. Amongst Traffords many varied claims to fame are he once danced the night away with Diana Ross at NYCs Studio 54 club, he was a roadie for the Sex Pistols during their infamous USA tour, a dancer with Sister Sledge at the Hacienda, was a good friend of James Brown and recently appeared naked in the Guardian. Nice. Tonight will be anything but dull. Enjoy. 9th - Jon Busstop / Good for the Soul Most of the original soul-funk vinyl for the first Funkademia night was purchased from Jons legendary Busstop Records emporium in Chorlton & it is still warming the dancefloor today. Jon was the first ever guest DJ at Funkademia back in the Attic in 1996 & hes been our mixer-in-chief ever since. Not one to blow his own trumpet but we will quite possibly the best vinyl mixer in clubland. His set will be seamless trust us. Finishing off will be the Good for the Soul DJ's who are now firm Funkademia favourites. 16th - Myk Nolan Myk is one of Funkademias' most popular residents. Been with us since 1997 and has never ever failed to lift the dancefloor. Genuinely knows how to give the people want they want. Myk is one of Funkademias' most popular residents. This is his eighth slot at Funkademia and has built up an ever expanding fan base of his slick disco mixing. On the decks with Russ will be the Good for the Soul DJ's who have played numerous guest spots throughout the UK and Europe, the duo is made up of Slammin Boy Jamie Scahill & Keith Griffiths.
