It's easily forgotten that festival season is not all about muddy fields, dodgy camping arrangements, and green fields showcasing the biggest movers and shakers in the music industry. The British Motorcyclists Federation's tri-annual weekenders for instance pave the way for a legion of motorbiking enthusiasts to get together to celebrate their shared petrol head passions, remaining as important to the fabric of the festival circuit as anything else.
As one of Europe's largest outdoor motorcycle showcases, BMF's May Show continues to attract a huge crowd of devoted Motocycle enthusiasts from across the board, both as exhibitors and visitors. This year sees the season opener return with an improved and enlarged Classic and Vintage area, an extended Adventuring and Overland touring area, as well as plenty of high octane, adrenaline pumping motorbike action.
2014 will also see BMF host the ACU 1000cc sidecar championship as well as our own BMF Moped Mayhem, which, complete with a big line up of live entertainment in the evenings, makes this the ultimate weekend for anyone with an ongoing case of motorcycle fever.
The second show in the BMF’s season sees the party heading North to the Borders Union Showground at Kelso. With more of a traditional festival aesthetic going on, the Kelso show is a wicked event for those who enjoy camping, not least due to its fantastic setting.
Like May Show, BMF Kelso brings a menu bulging with bikes, entertainment and music to the Borders, made that bit better by the thrilling surrounding roads that are just begging to be explored.
Returning to the Peterborough Arena to close the Festival season in style, BMF reconvene with hundreds of trade stands, club stands, an extensive Indoor Trade area and another Best in Show area with categories including Best Rat, Best Sports Bike, Best Engineered / Chopper, Best Custom, Best Classic / Vintage & Best Three Wheeler.
The festival will also be host to the now famous and ultra competitive BMF Moped Mayhem, plus witness a must-see appearance from stunt maestro David Russell.
