Detroit rappers Slum Village are coming to the UK in August to deliver an era spanning collection of rap tracks that span from the late 90's to the present day. The collective were founded in the early 90's by a trio childhood friends: Baatin, T3, and legendary producer J Dilla and recorded their debut Fan-Tas-Tic (Vol. 1) in Dilla's basement.
Its follow up Fantastic, Vol. 2 is rightly hailed as one of the most important hip hop albums of all time and features a stellar collection of collabs including Busta Rhymes, Common, D'angelo, Jazzy Jeff, Pete Rock, Kurupt, and Q-Tip.
Since Dilla left the group in 2001, Slum Village have dropped a further seven records, and through working with Kanye West and John Legend earned their highest charting single in 2004's 'Selfish'. As well as that, the group and their various line ups have toured with the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Common, Joey Bada$$, Erykah Badu, Nas, Cypress Hill and many more.
