Much loved Ninja Tune stalwarts The Cinematic Orchestra have announced a select number of UK dates for this spring and among them is a headline date at Birmingham's O2 Institute. The extensive troupe of musicians will bring their cinematic themes and hip hop backbeats to the venue on Friday 29th March.

After a considerable absence of activity fans of the band have been surprised over recent days with a rush of Cinematic Orchestra happenings. Firstly, the band's website appeared in a new format which allows followers to use it even when offline. The new look website's home page detailed news of an unannounced new single, 'A Caged Bird / Imitations Of Life', which has just been released on Ninja Tune and there is also news of a new record, To Believe which drops in March.

Details of the new single were quickly followed by more shocks as the group, lead by Jason Swinscoe, confirmed that the EP was the first single from brand new album “To Believe”, whose release is imminent. Singer-songwriter Moses Sumney, rapper Roots Manuva and producer Dorian Concept are all confirmed as guests on the album.

The album will be The Cinematic Orchestra's first since 2007's Ma Fleur and eager fans are bound to snap up tickets for this popular live act as soon as they are released.

Make sure you secure your Cinematic Birmingham tickets when they go on sale at 9am on Friday 18 January.
