Following the success of the first ever Ramsbottom Festival last year, the small but perfectly formed event returns to the quaint surroundings of Ramsbottom Cricket Club for its second outing.
Taking place over the weekend of 14th - 16th September, the family friendly festival offers a wide range of indie and folk artists performing across a range of indoor and outdoor stages.
This year Friday’s line-up offers an initial dose of indie resurgence with Manchester legends Inspiral Carpets accompanied by the Mancunian self-professed funkateers, The Janice Graham band.
Saturday’s line up includes Admiral Fallow, The Leisure Society, Session A9, Roddy Woomble (ex-Idlewild frontman), and BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominees Johnny Kearney and Lucy Farrell.
Sunday gets the popular vote with Mercury Music Prize nominee, indie-rock styled folk singer Seth Lakeman, Radio 2 favourite Thea Gilmore, Wonderstuff frontman Miles Hunt and Manchester band Biederbeck - fronted by ex-Corrie star Rupert Hill. Also confirmed for Sunday are Harp and a Monkey, Jenny McCormick; and singer songwriter, Danny Mahon - renowned for his double A-side Beat Me Up/AK-47 which was Manchester’s Piccadilly Record’s biggest selling vinyl in 2010.
More acts will be announced over the coming weeks - and with day tickets starting at just £18 Ramsbottom Festival makes for a great value event and the perfect way to see out the 2012 festival season.
