Hailed as 'the new saviour of rave' from those in the know, Kutski's technically superior, energetic DJ sets have not only won him a legion of fans but bagged him numerous awards along the way, from 'No.1 Hard Dance DJ' in DJ Mag to 'Best UK Hard DJ' at the Hard Dance Awards for three years running.

A regular at some of the biggest festivals like Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Defqon 1EDC and Coloursfest amongst more, Kutski and his all encompassing hard brand 'Keeping The Rave Alive' continue to dominate the scene, which is exactly why Totally Lost It have called upon his decks-pertise at Bowlers in Manchester on July 10th.

Ahead of that, we caught up with the man himself to talk through five of his favourite scratch routines from fellow masters of turntablism.

DJ Craze 'New Slaves Routine'

In a world of manufactured, ghost-produced artists playing pre mixed sets, clambering on top of the decks whilst counting to three on the microphone, Craze reminds us what the true art of turntablism is - embracing technology whilst staying true to his roots. This video was a nice reflection on how out of hand the EDM scene has become, and also how amazing DJ Craze still is.

DJ Gammer 'Do You Want To Build A Snowman'

Gammer is known as one of the most prolific producers in the UK hardcore scene, and I think sometimes the talk of how great his productions are over shadows what an amazing DJ he is, not just in the hardcore scene, but in the world of turntablism. I could have picked any of his videos here as they are all awesome - mashing up various genres with his trademark hardcore sound, packed with killer cuts and scratches.

Jordan Suckley 'DJ Sounds'

Trance is renowned for miserable looking DJs beat matching the last eight bars of one track into the first of another once every six to eight minutes - enter Jordan Suckley. He reinvented the way DJs mix this genre of music with quick mixes, surprising double drops, manic effects and live scratches. His DJ Sounds video from a few years back demonstrates why he is one of the most highly praised technical DJs out there!

DJ Ravine 'Christmas Mix'

When it comes to YouTube DJ videos, Ravine still reigns king of them all. Pioneering the art, Ravine was one of the first to start uploading DJ videos and has scaled with the times, with increasingly higher production of his videos, demonstrating a variety of DJ equipment and styles of music. A personal favourite of mine is still his Christmas end of year mix showcasing all the greatest dance music tracks of the year from house to happy hardcore!

DJ Dexta 'DMC 1998'

I've been into the art of DJing since I first heard DJs scratch on tape pack recordings from raves in the early nineties, but it was only in 1998 I discovered the DMC championships, in particular DJ Dexta’s set that I must have now watched over 1000 times.

Awesome scratches, juggles and over all crazy DJ techniques that blew my mind the first time I watched it! They say your first time is always special, so maybe nostalgia comes in to play a little here, but I can still watch this routine on repeat.
