Brought to you from the creative minds behind Kendal Calling, Forgotten Fields looks to assert itself on the festival circuit on August 7th by bringing the same spirit to Eridge Deer Park, deep in the Sussex countryside.

The more intimate setting will boast all the charisma and feel good vibes of Kendal, with a renewed emphasis on quality, content, style and of course the experience of the festival-goer. We've looked at five of the acts we're most excited about catching.

Basement Jaxx

Basement Jaxx are always essential viewing, and not just because of the calibre of their back catalogue, but because of the sheer energy and verve their live performances contain. A surefire festival hit if event here was one, just check out the video above to fget a feel for the Basement Jaxx experience.

De La Soul

Presenting the positive, feel good side of hip hop better than almost anyone else, De La Soul are perfect festival material, with tonnes of hits begging for some boisterous sing-a-long sessions. Check out their set for BBC Radio 6 to see what's in store.

The Horrors

Having started out as a gnarly, grungy post punk band, the Southend five piece have continually evolved, with their most recent material blessed with an electronic, almost danceable edge that has introduced their magnificent songwriting to a whole new audience. Check out 'I See You' above.

Public Service Broadcasting

Working closely with the British Film Institute, Public Service Broadcasting have created a brand of rock music that's wholly their own. Using public information films, archive footage and propaganda material, PBS surge through roaring, cinematic alt rock accompanied by immense visuals. Watch their performance on KEXP above.

British Sea Power

Now in their 15th year together, British Sea Power have brandished a sound that falls somewhere in between The Pixies, Arcade Fire, The Cure and Joy Division. The Cumbrian sextet have developed something of a cult following through the years as fans continue to be enticed by their beguiling, melodically superior art rock.
