Easter Sunday sees the Cream Classics tour return to Club Mission in Leeds for a nostalgic night of musical memories with familiar sounds, familiar faces and lots of new friends.
We caught up for a quick Q&A with headliner Todd 'the God' Terry ahead of the night.
How and when did you start DJing?
27 years ago in Brooklyn. I started at Sweet Sixteens, bazaars, weddings, and Block Parties.
What are the major differences in the scene from then to now?
Back in the days the House music scene was more about songs then tracks.
What’s your secret? How have you managed to stay relevant after all these years?
I try to stay current by collaborating with up and comers. These days it's with artist/DJs like Prok & Fitch, Matteo Di Marr, and Stefan Noferini.
What can we expect from a Todd Terry Cream Classics set?
All my hits; 'Bango', 'Party People', 'Day In A Life', 'Something Going On', 'Missing', 'Bounce To The Beat'.
What plans do you have for the rest of the year?
More collabs, original productions like "Todd Terry vs Hip Hop", and a crazy Dubstep album.
Thanks Todd, see you on Easter Sunday!
Todd Terry is joined by Danny Rampling, K-Klass, Steve Luigi, Paul Rough and more at Club Mission on April 8th. Tickets are now available through Skiddle priced at £12.50 or £25 VIP.
