Happy International Women's Day! Female artists have given us some of the greatest albums of all time and are constantly pushing the boundaries of genre. There are some pretty amazing female-fronted bands around at the moment and we thought now was as good a time as ever to shout about a few of them. Here's who we are keeping an eye on in 2023.

Panic Shack

Hailing from Cardiff, Panic Shack are able to combine hooks with humour, as their songs are as likely to have you shaking a fist as they are laughing out loud. A DIY band who prove that you can be independent and noticed, they are impossible to ignore and this will surely be a big year for them.

Body Type

A band that creates lawless indie/punk rock, Body Type simply don't care about anything but being themselves to the fullest. They have a new album out in June called 'Expired Candy' which will see the Australians be as joyous as they are fierce. It's never a dull listen when they release new music.

Wednesday

American rockers Wednesday are nothing short of psych-rock masters. Their songs are for outsiders, full of the perspective and stories of people who live on the outskirts of life. Their tracks hit like no one else can, with riffs being amped up at a moment's notice to completely blow your mind.

Feeble Little Horse

Feeble Little Horse broke through in 2021 with their album 'Hayday', which saw them take their place as breakthrough indie stars. In 2023, they have a new album on the way and it looks to expand on their distorted discography. Their latest single 'Tin Man' is a delightful takedown of a guy who is empty inside.

English Teacher

English Teacher have been a rising band for a little while now and they're definitely still ones to keep an eye on in 2023. The last single they released was called 'Song About Love' and it was released on Speedy Wunderground. It's hard to not be entrapped by vocalist Lily Fontaine who is a frighteningly gifted lyricist.
