So it's May the Fourth today, and consequently we're using this May Bank Holiday for a complete Star Wars love in with two special five for the funks (read the first one here) as we pay homage to one of our favourite film franchises.

Well, the second is actually an interview with the world's most loved turntable jedi, DJ Yoda, who has gone left of centre and delivered us his five favourite references to breakfast cereal in hip hop.

Never one to stick to the norm, he'll be bringing his quirky humor and captivating deck skills to Standon Calling this summer, which takes place on Friday 31st July - Sunday 2nd August. So without further ado, here's DJ Yoda's Five for the Funk.

LL Cool J "Milky Cereal"

"Ain't nothing like a nice bowl of Corn Flakes in the morning to smooth you out". This is a whole track of a very tenuous link between sex and breakfast cereal, but like everything LL did in the 80s and 90s it's super dope.

Geto Boys "Cereal Killer"

If LL equated cereal to love-making, then Geto Boys managed to use it as a metaphor for murder! But what else would you expect from some of the most hardcore gangster rappers of the 90s? Simultaneously ridiculous and seriously good.

DJ Yoda feat Biz Markie "Breakfast Cereal"

Long before my 'Breakfast of Champions' album, I made a whole track dedicated to breakfast cereal with my favourite old school rapper Biz Markie. We share a love for collecting rare cereals, and there's even a limited edition Biz Markie doll you can buy which comes packaged in a huge cereal box.

Breakfast of Champions "Super Cereal Syrup"

From my latest album 'Breakfast of Champions' this one involves Truthos Mufasa, Manchester's finest, letting loose - he's kind of like an young Old Dirty Bastard from up North! Short and sweet, but one of my favourites.

Ice Cube "It Was A Good Day"

It was such a good day that his momma cooked him breakfast with no hog. OK, I had to clutch at straws to find another rap song about breakfast cereal, but what do you want? It's a REALLY specific topic!
