Creamfields is undoubtedly one of the biggest and well-established dance music festivals in the world. It boasts a rich musical heritage and throughout the years some of the most popular electronic music artists have graced their line ups for the August bank holiday weekend, 2014 is no different.
With such a vast variety of acts playing over the course of three days, it's difficult to know who is worthy of making that committed journey from one tent to another. We thought we'd try and make things a bit easier by selecting our five top picks.
New kids on the block by Creamfields standards, Jammo and Tommy, AKA My Nu Leng have paved their way into the scene with their hard to categorise sound.
Their bass-heavy approach to making music has resulted in them having a string of releases featuring a highly distinguishable sound (check out their release on Black Butter above). Expect big drops, dirty basslines and a whole lot of jumping around on the Friday night when these guys are on.
Swedish DJ Prydz is always in high demand when it comes to festivals. Colossal stages with extravagant production details suit him down to the ground and he's never short of devoted ravers following him wherever he goes.
With decades of experience behind him and the ability to read a crowd, no matter how big, he is considered a god amongst men in regards to musical skills. Impressively, he became the first ever artist able to sample Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick In The Wall' (see above). You can catch Prydz on the Saturday.
dirtybird boss and all-round party-starter Claude VonStroke will also be playing on the Saturday. VonStroke is an artist whose positive energy radiates while he's behind the decks.
Come rain or shine you know that this guy will put a smile on your face with bouncy beats and sexy vocals. Expect a fast-paced set filled with dirtybird tracks (check out the Kill Frenzy remix of Dood above).
No matter what genre of dance music you're into, at some point you will have heard a track by Angello. He was hurdled into the crossover limelight when Swedish House Mafia took over the world of stadium house a couple of years back, but as a solo artist he still displays superb showmanship and dexterity.
In fact years before the alliance he was wowing clubbers everywhere from Playa D'en Bossa to Panama, so his universal success comes as no surprise. We'll be pumping our fists in the air on Saturday as he heads up his own Size Matters arena.
Tensnake's sets are nothing short of perfect for festival environments. Stylish disco, funky house music and the occasional inclusion of steel drum sounds give this Hamburg based producer every reason not to be missed on the Sunday.
Best known for 'Coma Cat', Tensnake is massively influenced by 80's boogie and Italo disco (check out his groove-filled mix above).
