Some artists come along and they completely change the face of a genre. The Chemical Brothers did just that for electronic music. Bridging the gap between big beat and the mainstream, they've released hit album after hit album.
Their live shows opened crowds up to a whole new musical experience - one that's immersive and simply mind blowing. Twenty years on the scene and they’re as relevant now as they’ve ever been, fresh off the back of releasing their album Born in the Echoes.
Ahead of the pair's Creamfields performance this Bank Holiday August, we revisited some of our favourite Chemical Brothers tunes to get us excited.
Guaranteed goosebumps when listening to this, whether it’s at home or in an arena, the spine-tingling effect is still the same. It’s euphoric, and the repetition of ‘Just remember to fall in love, there’s nothing else’ convinces you to do just that. Oh and we absolutely love this video, which was taken from the visuals for 'Swoon' and 'Dissolve' in the Further album's film.
An all time classic. This was their first new original material in two years, and was much more house focused than big beat and reflected the duos nights at Gatecrasher in Sheffield. It was one of their more commercially accessible tracks but still harvested the Chemical Brothers' brilliance.
Born in the Echoes was a triumphant return from The Chemical Brothers. And it was this track with Q-Tip which caught the attention of radio stations and fans alike, making it an instant anthem. If anyone needed validation that The Chemical Brothers could still pull it out of the bag, this was it.
This was from the album We Are The Night which featured some cracking collaborations including one with The Klaxons, but it was this track with Ali Love which took the spotlight. It's one of the most recognisable tracks in dance music and still sounds as fresh now as it did 23 years ago.
Those drums and those vocals from Noel Gallagher - it's a recipe for success. 'Let Forever Be' was the second single from their third album Surrender and was co-wrote by Noel himself. The video utilised ground-breaking video and film effects, making it one of the most well-known videos related to the band.
See them live at Creamfields Ferstival 2015 on Saturday 29th August.
