Annie Mac's reputation as a dance music authority is almost as well established as the BBC itself, so it's no surprise at all how popular her own Lost & Found Festival has become over the past few years.
Curated by the Radio 1 selector herself, the line up is an accurate reflection of the acts she rates and supports on her show. Covering house, techno, bass and all the lovely bits in between, the Malta-based event has become a haven for ravers looking for that ultimate foreign fest experience. Ahead of this year's installment, we took a look at the line up and selected five standout acts.
Tiga
Find Tiga tickets.
Montreal's finest son remains one of dance music's most enigmatic figures. Since he first rose to prominence riding the wave of the electroclash explosion at the turn of the century, Tiga's tongue-in-cheek approach to dance music has been married to a bristling appreciation of the genre's starting points, namely electro, techno, and, most viscerally, rave culture.
Jimmy Coultas
Shanti Celeste
Find Shanti Celeste tickets.
As part of a wave of DJs who speciality lies equally with radio as it does with the club, NTS favourite Shanti Celeste has an earnest ear for distinctive house sounds, groovy basslines and harder-edged acid tracks.
With a record collection most DJs would envy, the Bristol-based artist's sets are filled with dancefloor ready gems and soulful melodies, which are consistently authentic but always a lot of fun.
Becca Frankland
Shy FX
Find Shy FX tickets.
One of the original kings of jungle, Shy FX has been at the forefront of D&B for pretty much the entirety of the genre's existence, welding reggae and pop to the sound just as readily as he has delivered underground dubplates - take his blissful rework of Jorja Smith & Stormzy's 'Let Me Down' as evidence of that.
JC
Monki
Find Monki tickets.
A fellow radio stalwart, Monki has been bringing chunky 4/4 beats to the masses through her Radio 1 and 1xtra shows for years now, whilst showcasing the best up-and-coming artists on her Zoo Music label. Bringing flavours of tech and bass alongside more classic sounding house, her festival sets are characterised by high energy jams and some big samples.
BF
Jamie xx
Find Jamie xx tickets.
As equally renowned for being a standalone DJ and producer as he is for being part of The xx, Jamie's sets are a journey through soundscapes and his own instantly recognisable releases. Touching on lo-fi, mesmerising tracks and popping house and disco offerings, you can always rely on a hug-your-mates moment when he's on the decks.
