DJ Natasha Kitty Katt named Liverpool as the disco capital of the world last year in an interview with Skiddle, thanks to a wealth of events in the city that rival even the likes of London and New York.
Liverpool Disco Festival no doubt stands at the forefront of this genre dedication, the club-meets-fest event is now readying itself for its fourth instalment, with one of its biggest line ups to date. In preparation, we've hand selected five acts that we think you should make time for this Easter bank holiday weekend.

Derrick Carter (does disco)
Widely known as one of house music's true greats, Derrick Carter is a master of his craft and an advocate for all things underground. He began DJing at the age of nine, playing disco records at family reunions, and he often revisits his roots, playing special sets across the UK in the likes of Sub Club and XOYO, digging in deep to his collection of classic grooves and alluring funk.
It's an opportunity to see one of the scene's most respected selectors take a trip down memory lane with retro cuts and soul gems at Camp and Furnace's main room.

The Reflex

Disco originals are at the heart of the genre's history and legacy, but edits hold a very special place as well. The Reflex holds the same notoriety as the likes of Greg Wilson, Dimitri From Paris and Late Nite Tuff Guy when it comes to reworks, putting a modern spin on timeless records and making them dancefloor ready.

The brains behind The Million Dollar Orchestra, and one of the country's most prolific DJs, Al Kent is Glasgow's very own disco afficianado. Having spent his childhood collecting records with his dad, it's no surprise that he grew up to be a natural digger, with an ear for the best underground soul and disco.
On Friday 30th March, as part of LDF4, Al will present a masterclass in studio methodology, focussing on creating edits - an unmissable opporutinity for every self respecting disco fan. The party will be rounded off by LDF fave Natasha Kitty Kat, as well as pizza and cocktails.
