One of the most genuinely breathtaking festivals the world over, Secret Solstice boasts round the clock sunshine for the entire 72 hours that it takes place and is also known as the midnight sun festival.

It's third installment on 17th - 19th June includes the first ever volcano party, following on from last year's glacier party that saw the festival voted the #1 outdoor festival venue on Earth by Pulse Radio. With a line-up that boasts over 150 acts from Iceland and around the world the music won't leave you cold - here's our top five acts.

Deftones

Californian alt-metal superheroes Deftones might have been going now for nearly two decades, but their song-writing is as impressive as it ever was. New album Gore is one of the strongest rock albums to have appeared this year, and ranks up there alongside the likes of White Pony in the five piece's sublime back catalogue. Pros at the top of the game, expect a barrage of searing rock classics from one of the genre's finest bands.

Of Monsters And Men

Returning to their native Reykjavík, Of Monsters and Men will bring their stomping indie folk to a crowd no doubt used to seeing the five piece tearing up English festivals. With bona fide anthems like 'Little Talks' and the thunderous 'Mountain Sound', expect nothing less than a showstopping performance when OMM headline on Sunday.

General Levy

The ragga DJ and cult hero knows how to get a party started with one burst of his instantly recognisable flow. Expect an extended mix of Incredible just to make sure that everyone knows that jungle really IS massive. The Londoner will bring Jamaica to Iceland (get your head around that one) on Sunday and will doubtless set the precedent for a huge party.

Die Antwoord

Are they for real, or are they just pretending? Whatever your take on the confrontational South African duo, they're here to shock and appal, and we love it. From their gritty breakthrough 'Enter the Ninja' to their most recent Suck On This mixtape, the Cape Town rave-rap outfit continue to out-do themselves, and their live shows are as brazen, trashy and in your face as you'd expect (see above) - a definite festival highlight awaits.

Radiohead

The hype a few months back surrounding the Oxford quintet's newest album was, as expected, enormous, but as ever Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood and co had the chops to back it up, with the simply incredible A Moon Shaped Pool. Reviews of their European tour have been nothing short of gushing, with the band performing over 20 tracks including classics like 'Creep', 'Idioteque' and 'Street Spirit (Fade Out)'. Their Secret Solstice set will be utterly unmissable.
