Five reasons to go to Rammy

There's just one month to go before the second annual Ramsbottom Festival takes place. Here are five reasons to go!

1) The line-up, of course!

Well, we wouldn't go to a festival if we didn't like any of the bands, would we. Thankfully with Ramsbottom Festival you won't have that problem, thanks to  its handpicked selection of exciting new talent like the Janice Graham Band, Admiral Fallow and Seth Lakeman, and established Manchester legends such as Inspiral Carpets, I Am Kloot and Roddy Frame.  See the full Ramsbottom Festival line-up here.

2) The location

Ramsbottom festival takes place at the lovely Ramsbottom Cricket club, in this rural bohemian outpost just 12 miles north of Manchester. It's easy to reach by tram, car, and our favourite mode of transport - the East Lancs steamtrain, which pulls up right outside the festival site. There's loads to soak up in Ramsbottom itself, so if you decide to stay the night you'll find plenty of places to eat, drink and shop - as well as lovely brisk walks to clear away those morning-after cobwebs.

3)  The price

At just £20 for the day, £50 for the entire weekend (three days) and kids from just a fiver (with under 6s free), Rammy Fest represents great value for a day out.

4) Food and drink

With food stalls from some of Lancashire's finest homegrown eateries and a real ale tent serving up some of the region' s favourite sups, Rammy Fest is a food and drink haven, representing some of the finest local cuisine around. Black pudding, anyone?

5) Bring the family

Ramsbottom Festival is a delightfully family friendly affair. Clean, safe and manageable, it's easy to get around with kids in tow. And there's plenty for the youngsters to do too, with art and music workshops, story telling, comedy, a funfair, and of course the silent disco - which last year was popular with music fans of all ages.
