Two of Preston’s favourite underground nights combine forces for an unmissable NYE blowout.

It’s been a long time coming, but finally two of the most respected underground nights in Preston come together to throw what promises to be the highlight of 2013 in the city. For No Reason and Beats of Rage have individually been carving an underground scene in Preston for the last seven and six years respectively, and have in turn been responsible for some of the most memorable underground excursions witnessed within the confines of the city.

Chez Damier @ FNR

With For No Reason aiming squarely on bringing some of the most respected names in house music to the Lancashire city, guests as far reaching as Parisian house heads Jeremy Underground Paris and Brawther, Hot Creations main man Jamie Jones, Chicago legend Chez Damier, esoteric, atmospheric techno whizz Move D and Leeds' based Back to Basics resident Tristan Da Cunha. With a distinct air of effortlessly cool party starting combined with an attitude free fan base and wicked music policy, For No Reason’s ride has been a wildly fun one, as their nomadic existence throughout Preston’s underground belly has provided a consistent litany of highlights.

Seelie's FNR Promo Mix

Taking over the downstairs at The Adelphi, Beats of Rage will be bringing its well honed brand of sweaty darkroom electro, house and techno to Preston’s rave hungry hordes. Via holding numerous residencies throughout Preston’s deliciously grimy netherworld, and balancing on the bleeding edge of dance music’s many and furtive movements, Beats of Rage has hosted some of the most well respected, under the radar vanguards of electronic music.

The likes of Scottish electro trash confrontationalist Drums of Death, eclectic Canadian technoists Jokers Of The Scene, charismatic electro house favourite Boy 8-Bit, irreverent beat pioneer Sam Binga and most recently British dance music institution Justin Robertson have all embraced the Beats of Rage spirit with performances that will live in the memory, albeit, as you’d expect, rather hazily.

Breadman's Skiddle Mixtape

For New Year’s Eve the two nights have joined forces to bring some of their favourite DJs and residents from their long careers to soundtrack two floors of everything from house to bass music, techno to disco. Beats of Rage regulars The Filth Wizard, Breadman (check out his mixtape for Skiddle here, and above), and NoFuture anchor proceedings, whilst Beats of Rage family members MVRCK and Simba put in special appearances to really get things pumping.

For No Reason likewise invite mainstay and crowd favourite Seelie to kick things off, whilst scintillating duo Tonderayi and Webster make their long awaited FNR debut. Kasco & the Metro Movers!, Lee Walls and U.D.A round off a reliably intelligent groove laden line up that is proving to be the most essential destination in the city for house and techno on the 31st December.
