Former Motörhead drummer Phil Taylor aka Philthy Animal has died aged 61.
He was a drummer in the band from 1975 - 1984 and 1987 - 1992. His most recent appearance with Lemmy and Co came last year in Birmingham (catch him performing below).
In a facebook tribute, Fast Eddie Clark said: "My dear friend and brother passed away last night. He had been ill for sometime but that does not make it any easier when the time finally comes."
He continues: "I have known Phil since he was 21 and he was one hell of a character. Fortunately we made some fantastic music together and I have many many fond memories of our time together. Rest in Peace, Phil!"
Motörhead released their last album Bad Magic as recent as August.
Latest news: The Rolling Stones will start recording a new album in December
