Frankie Sandford wants The Saturdays to go rock.

The 21-year-old singer would love for her pop group - also comprising Rochelle Wiseman, Una Healey, Mollie King and Vanessa White - to change their image and promote a more edgier look and sound, but doesn't think they would be able to.

She told the Daily Record newspaper: "We are pretty much pop through and through but I would have a go at the rockier side, strutting about in leathers and stuff. I would love to crowd surf or climb up the rigging but it's not quite something we can do in our little outfits. If I was in pair of jeans, I might try crazier stuff."

An edgier look would be nothing new for Frankie - who shot to fame in children's group S Club Juniors - because she admits to experimenting with her style before joining the band.

She added: "Before I was in The Saturdays I went through an emo stage and dyed my hair millions of colours and wore outrageous outfits."

Yesterday (24.06.10) The Saturdays announced their new album will be called 'Headlines' and will be released on August 30.
