Today marks the release of Freya Ridings's second album 'Blood Orange', a selection of dancefloor-ready songs that exemplify the blistering power of her vocals. Tracks such as 'Weekends' brings disco energy to it whilst the rest of the album pays homage to Ridings's love of 70's musicians.
You'll feel the stylings of names such as Elton John, Carole King and Fleetwood Mac in her music. It feels suitably intimate, with live instrumentation and acoustic guitar providing a certain closeness. It is a fine follow-up to 2019's self-titled debut and it expands her musicianship into new avenues.
This year, Ridings will be touring her new record, taking it to various festivals and live shows across the UK. One of the festivals will be Lancaster's Highest Point which also boasts names such as Bastille, Anne-Marie and Hacienda Classical. If you want to catch Freya Ridings at the festival then you can grab a ticket below.
