Anthem alert! We’re privy to a classic here at Skiddle HQ and even more so when it comes with the double benefit of a monstrous bassline. Enter Friend Within, reworking Wildchild’s ‘Renegade Master’ from the late nineties into a bass rumbling monster that has festival season stamped all over it. It’s been cained by everyone in the know already and is due out on Disclosure’s Method Records on August 19th.
But who exactly is Friend Within? There’s been one or two suggestions the mysterious producer might be an alias of an existing one, but the doubt certainly doesn’t stretch to the music world’s appreciation, where he’s been lapped up. T. Williams has had him guest on his Rinse FM show, Monki invited him to collaborate and he’s knocked beats out for the likes of Hypercolour and Dirtybird.
You can catch him headlining the Av Verde terrace party which brings some sunshine to the Wirral in August, alongside Circus residents Makes No Sense, tickets for which are available now.
We've also got some on sale when he plays at Ocean Club in Ibiza - head here for details.
Tickets are no longer available for this event
