Scooter fans, sharply-dressed Mods, skinheads and reggae and ska aficionados will be among those welcomed to a celebration of mod and ska music in Leeds this summer. The outdoor concert will see From the Jam, Bad Manners, The Dualers and Death of Guitar Pop play at Millennium Square on Sunday 11th August.
From The Jam feature original member Bruce Foxton and singer Russell Hastings playing the popular hits of the Paul Weller-fronted Mod revival band, who were active at the same time Bad Manners were storming the charts with songs like 'Lip Up Fatty', 'My Girl Lollipop' and 'Can Can'. These evergreen favourites are sure to get the audience bouncing in the warm summer evening.
Also on the line-up are popular south London ska band The Dualers who are led by lead singer Tyber Cranston. Completing the evening's entertainment are the relatively young Death of Guitar Pop, a dual-vocalled ska band who take inspiration from Madness, The Specials, Ian Dury and The Clash.
