Funk pioneer Keni Burke brings gloriously groovy hits to UK dates

The legendary Keni Burke will bring his glorious brand of funk and soul to a heap of UK venues in early 2018 as he celebrates 35 years of seminal hit 'Risin' To The Top' with a string of shows.

As part of 'the first family of soul' aka The Five Stairsteps, Keni Burke helped create the iconic 'Ooh Child', which came in at number 402 on The Rolling Stone's 500 greatest songs of all time list and scored the group's only top 40 hit, and following his stint with the group went on to carve a highly successful career of his own.

Through the likes of 'Let Somebody Love You' and 'You're The Best', Burke mastered chart breaching r'n'b, however it is 'Risin To The Top' that left the largest impression, with hp hop stars including LL Cool J, Mary J Blige, Pete Rock & C.L Smooth all sampling the track for their own work.
