Funkademia recently announced it will be moving from Manchester’s Mint Lounge to The Deaf Institute. The club night sees its launch party at the new venue this weekend on Saturday Saturday 21st September 2024.

Funkademia, the city’s longest-running club night going since 1995, brings the funkiest sounds to the iconic venue every Saturday night from 11pm until 4am, with drink offers all night long.

All three floors of the venue will be used, with funk, soul, and disco in The Music Hall beneath the disco ball. Then there’ll be hip-hop and R&B in The Boombox Room, and, for the launch party this weekend, the basement will be flooded with deep disco by special guests Lovedose. Expect the music of James Brown, Snoop, Prince, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, and other legends.

The club night also recently announced a DJ competition as they search for the perfect DJ who spins party music, funk, disco, and R&B. The winner of the competition will be chosen by 30th September, with the winner being paid for their set.

Known for its friendly atmosphere and, of course, incredible and eclectic music policy, you can secure tickets for Funkademia’s Deaf Institute launch party towards the bottom of this page.
