Gang Starr Foundation celebrate 25th anniversary of Jeru The Damaja's debut

'The Sun Rises In The East' saw DJ Premier take co production duties.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jeru The Damaja's debut album The Sun Rises In The East, Gang Starr Foundation are set to play a special show, coming to Gorilla in Manchester on Friday 7th June.

Jeru has invited along very special guests Group Home & Big Shug for the event, where he will work through the seminal 1994 record that contributed to the revival of the east coast scene, and saw DJ premier join Jeru on production duties.

The impact of this record can not be understated & has gone down as one of the finest releases within hip hop admired & loved for it's consciousness & high skill level rhymes & mind blowing beats by DJ Premier.

Group Home released their debut LP after guesting on Gang Starr records in 1995, while Big Shug worked extensively with Gang Starr in the 90s and released his debut LP in 2005. 

A new LP is expected from Big Shug later in the year.This is the perfect Gang Starr foundation line up to celebrate some of the cultures finest releases.
