Former Supergrass man Gaz Coombes will bring his glittering solo studio output to an Independent Venue Week show in Leicester, where he takes on the iconic Cookie on Wednesday 31st January.
Since leaving the 'Alright' indie rockers, Coombes has delivered a duo of solo records, the first Here Come The Bombs dropping in 2012, while its follow up Matador was released around three years ago.
The second leans heavily on acoustic tracks with electronic undertones and an almost cinematic tilt to its production, exhibiting Coombes' exquisite songwriting abilities and ear for melody as he moves away from his Britpp beginnings.
He is set to release his third solo album World's Strongest Man this coming May and fans will be hoping he teases some of the tracks at his Independent Venue Week show - with the driving Deep Pockets (above) the first taste of record number three.
