Global Gathering returns once again with its unique brand of midsummer madness. Whilst others have fallen by the way side Godskitchen prove yet again that they’re no ‘one trick pony’ and continue to ensure Global Gathering is one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the clubbing calender. Starting from humble beginnings they now boast one of the best line-ups in the world alongside legendary event production that is quite simply second to none.
Now in it’s fourth glorious year Global Gathering is undoubtedly the Daddy of the Dance Festival and the clubbers event of choice. Having sold out to over 35,000 people for the last three years there can be no doubting that this is the crème de la crème of summer clubbing. And 2004 looks set to exceed everything that has gone before:
35,000 dance music enthusiasts will party once again in nine extraordinary arenas each individually dressed using more sound, lighting, video screens, visual arts and lasers than ever before. Everywhere you turn you will be met with something extraordinary. Whether it be the EXTREME URBAN PARK full of professional skaters, BMX riders and hip hop beats, or the only existing mobile roller coaster that will take it’s position alongside a plethora of insane fairground attractions, or the all new CHILL OUT VILLAGE where you can catch your favourite movie in the cinema lounge or share a moment with friends in the many sumptuous lazy coffee shops for that blissed out festival moment. Or maybe you’ll have a laugh at the COMEDY CLUB hosted by JONGLEURS or you just might not be able to pull yourself away from the 8,000 CAPACITY BEACH ARENA that will simply take your breath away!
And all this before you have even get to the arenas. This year the music is a truly global reflection of dance music. The main arena will of course be home to the mighty GODSKITCHEN where you can expect some exceptional, mind blowing production twists. Forget what has gone before the arena will be unrecognisable as incredible innovative production twists take centre stage. Elsewhere the fun continues as the very best DJs from each genre represent their scene and compete for your attentions. Not an easy decision to make with BABOOSHKA providing some dirty, sexy, twisted beats and one of the most eclectic house line ups ever seen, GLOBAL delivering the tough enough techno and hard edged beats, BEDROCK are back with the ultra cool prog beats and even more Global Gathering debuts, and that man Madders will be going mental and geeing you up in the POLYSEXUAL arena whilst the kings of drum & bass ACCELERATED CULTURE will be doing what they do best on the other side of the field.
New for 2004 comes Ali B who will be bringing a touch of London-cool to proceedings. Fresh off the back of his seminal Air Parties we bring you the first ever breaks stage in THE AIR ARENA - a festival first that will knock the socks off music fans everywhere. Then providing a touch of glamour, sexy beats and beautiful people Mark Doyle and the fabulous HED KANDI will be hosting the VVIP arena for special tickets holders… (These tickets can be bought separately).
And if all this wasn’t enough the final piece de resistance comes in the form of the world’s biggest festival beach experience and you only have to look at the line up to realise how special this is going to be. Complete with ice cream vans, buckets and spades, palm trees and other ludicrous seaside paraphernalia Global Gathering 2004 looks set to be a once in a lifetime experience.
So with over 100 DJs and Live-Acts, 9 arenas, 28 miles of electric cables, 500 moving headlight effect, 30 laser systems, 50 windmills, 380 tons of staging, over 5 miles worth of lighting trussing, 20 sets of Technic’s turntables, 6 miles of fencing, 4 miles of water piping, 17 bars and much, much more all put together by a team of over 500 workers taking two weeks to build for just one night. This promises to be THE best night of the year and quite probably the best night of your life.
Global Gathering 2004 is here. Will you be?
