Anglo Parisian psych rock heavyweights Gong have been announced to headline Equinox Festival 2017. Formed in 1967 by the late Daevid Allen, the group have produced stellar studio efforts including the 'Radio Gnome Invisible' trilogy of Flying Teapot, Angel's Egg and You.
Each display a fusion of heavy rock and jazz elements with psychedelic pop melodies shining through, earning the group a reputation for wonderfully virtuoso musicianship. In 2016 Gong released Rejoice! I'm Dead!, their first album since the death of co-founders Gilli Smith and Daevid Allen, the inspiration behind the release.
They join 'Really Free' singer John Otway, along with China Shop Bull and Doozer McDooze on the Equinox Festival 2017 line up, with acts performing across a host of eco-friendly stages. The festival itself takes place between Friday 22nd and Sunday 24th September in time to celebrate the turn of Autumn, thus creating a uniquely spiritual experience.
